The WhichBivvy Verdict

The Prologic C-Series 2-Man Bivvy is a breath of fresh air for any angler who is tired of carrying heavy, over-engineered shelters that take half an hour to pitch.

It is unapologetically simple. By sticking to a classic two-rib frame, Prologic has created a bivvy that is exceptionally lightweight and quick to erect, making it an ideal choice for the angler who prefers to stay mobile or just wants to get their rods in the water as fast as possible.

While it does not offer the heavy-duty features of the more expensive pro-level shelters, the 8000mm hydrostatic head fabric is perfectly capable of keeping you dry during standard British weather.

The space inside is surprisingly generous, with an optimized layout that fits two bedchairs without feeling like you are trapped in a small cupboard. It includes the essentials like a large rear vent for airflow and a letterbox-style door, which is a massive plus when you need to keep an eye on the water during a downpour.

If you are looking for a functional, honest shelter that leaves you with enough change in your pocket for plenty of bait, this is a very strong contender.

Pros & Cons

What we like

  • The weight of 9.5kg is fantastic for a 2-man bivvy and makes it easy to transport.
  • The two-rib frame design allows for a very fast and straightforward setup process.
  • The optimized internal space provides plenty of room for two bedchairs and gear.
  • Letterbox-style door configuration is perfect for watching the lake during bad weather.
  • Large rear ventilation window significantly helps with airflow and reducing condensation.
  • It offers exceptional value for money compared to many other entry-level options.

Watch out for

  • The 8000mm hydrostatic head is decent but will not match the performance of premium 20,000mm fabrics in severe storms.
  • The frame is quite flexible, so it is not as rigid as a central-hub or high-end Titan-style system in very high winds.
  • The supplied groundsheet is on the thinner side and feels a bit basic.
  • It lacks the luxury features and pockets found on more expensive "session" bivvies.
  • The carry bag is a functional design but can be a bit of a tight fit if the bivvy is not packed away neatly.
