A 2 man bivvy does two very different jobs.
A 2 man bivvy does two very different jobs. The first is pairs fishing, two anglers sharing a shelter on social or practical sessions. The second, arguably more common, is the solo angler who wants serious living space for longer stays without squeezing themselves and all their kit into a standard 1 man. Both are valid reasons to go bigger. The buying decision is slightly different for each.

The Trakker Tempest RS 200 is the best 2 man quick-erect on the market if budget allows. At 390cm wide with 25,000mm waterproofing and 175cm of headroom it is in a class of its own. For anglers who want 2 man capability without spending four figures, the Fox EOS MK2 2 Man delivers solid performance at a much more accessible price.
If you are fishing with a partner, internal width is critical. You need at least 300cm to comfortably fit two bedchairs side by side. If you are fishing solo in a 2 man for the extra room, depth matters as much as width, you want space for a chair in front of your bedchair and room to store kit properly.
Two man bivvies are heavy. The Trakker RS 200 is 20.2kg packed total. The Fox EOS MK2 2 Man is considerably lighter but trades off waterproofing to get there. If you cannot drive to your swim or have a large barrow, weight needs to be near the top of your list of criteria.
A 2 man pole and frame bivvy can take 20 minutes to erect properly. A 2 man quick-erect like the Trakker RS 200 goes up in under 2 minutes. If you are arriving at a venue late or moving swims regularly, this is a significant practical difference worth factoring in.
