The WhichBivvy Verdict
Solar have built a genuinely useful two man bivvy here without overcomplicating it.
The three-rib pram hood construction with stabilising braces holds firm even in strong wind, and the 10,000mm UnderCover fabric is breathable as well as waterproof, which keeps condensation noticeably more manageable than non-breathable alternatives at a similar price point.
The standout figure is the 200cm apex height.
That is genuinely rare in any bivvy regardless of price, and it means two anglers can stand up fully inside without any of the usual stooping and crouching that comes with pram hood designs.
Combined with 300cm width and 360cm depth, this is a serious amount of internal space for two people and their kit.
The front panel offers proper configuration flexibility, from full mozzy mesh through to complete removal for an open-fronted setup on warm nights. A detachable peak, full-size rear vent and heavy duty groundsheet all come as standard.
A small zip in the rear for power cable access is a genuinely thoughtful touch that shows Solar have listened to how anglers actually use their kit.
The optional inner dome, sold separately, is where this bivvy earns extra credit.
Rather than being locked into a fixed configuration, you can add the inner dome later to create a fully enclosed inner chamber, turning the outer shell into a proper twin-skin system as your budget allows.
The outer dome works perfectly well as a standalone single-skin shelter if you never need that upgrade.

Anglers who want a spacious, well equipped 2 man shelter with genuine expansion options.
The Solar Tackle UnderCover 2 Man uses UnderCover fabric with a 10,000mm hydrostatic head rating that is also breathable. This is a solid waterproofing rating for typical UK conditions and the breathability helps manage condensation noticeably better than non-breathable fabrics at a similar price point.
The UnderCover 2 Man has an apex height of 200cm, which is exceptional for any bivvy regardless of price point. This means two anglers can stand up fully inside without stooping, a genuine practical advantage over most pram hood designs which typically sit between 130 and 165cm.
Yes. Solar sell a dedicated inner dome separately that connects to the UnderCover 2 Man outer shell, creating a fully enclosed twin-skin system with added insect protection and insulation. The outer bivvy also works perfectly well as a standalone single-skin shelter if you do not need the inner dome, giving you the flexibility to upgrade later rather than paying for it upfront.
The UnderCover 2 Man weighs 14kg. This includes the three-rib frame, heavy duty groundsheet and pegs. At this weight it is firmly a barrow or drive-in shelter rather than something to carry any significant distance, which is typical for a two man bivvy of this size and specification.
