The WhichBivvy Verdict

The RS 150 is the one Trakker probably should have made years ago. At 320cm wide and 230cm deep it sits in a genuinely useful gap in the market - noticeably bigger than a standard 1 man shelter but without the full footprint commitment of the RS 200.

For the solo angler who wants room to breathe, a proper chair alongside their bedchair and space for all their gear without sleeping in a cupboard, this is the RS to go for.

Everything that makes the RS range special is here in full. Twenty-five thousand millimetre Aquatexx fabric, the Rapid Knuckle System that locks all five poles in one action, Adaptive Ventilation on six vents to fight condensation, and the blackout pigment that means you can actually sleep past sunrise. The four internal mesh storage pockets and two internal hanging points mean you can get your swim organised properly on a longer stay.

At 150cm of headroom it is generous without being extravagant. The flatter rear design compared to older Tempest models gives you better usable floor space and means it fits into tighter swims than the dimensions might suggest. It comes well equipped - groundsheet, clear window, two Quicksticks and T-pegs all in the oversized NXG carry bag.

Total packed weight is 16.8kg which means this wants a barrow. In return you get a shelter that genuinely handles everything the UK throws at it and then some.

Pros & Cons

What we like

  • Sits in a genuinely useful size gap between 1 man and 2 man shelters
  • 25,000mm Aquatexx fabric is among the best waterproofing available on any shelter
  • Rapid Knuckle System locks all five poles in one action for fast setup
  • Six Adaptive Ventilation vents handle condensation better than most quick-erects
  • Blackout pigment keeps the shelter dark for daytime sleep after busy night sessions
  • Flatter rear design improves usable floor space and swim fit
  • Groundsheet, clear window, two Quicksticks and T-pegs all included
  • Full accessory compatibility including Skull Cap, Insect Panel, Inner Capsule and Social Cap

Watch out for

  • 16.8kg total packed weight means this is strictly a barrow option
  • At 141cm packed length you need a large barrow bag - check compatibility before buying
  • Skull Cap, Insect Panel, Inner Capsule and Social Cap are all sold separately
  • The extra size over the RS 100 comes with a significant extra cost
  • Overkill for mobile anglers or those who rarely fish overnight sessions

Should You Buy This Bivvy?

Buy it if...

  • You want more internal space than a standard 1 man but do not need a full 2 man shelter
  • You fish solo on longer sessions and want room for a chair, all your kit and space to breathe
  • You want 25,000mm waterproofing and the full RS feature set in a genuinely versatile size
  • You fish from a barrow and want a shelter that can handle winter and summer equally well
  • You want a complete four-season accessory system available including Skull Cap and Inner Capsule

Look elsewhere if...

  • You need to carry your kit any distance - at 16.8kg total this is a barrow only option
  • You want the most compact RS option - the RS 100 is lighter and easier to move
  • You fish with a partner and need genuine 2 man space - look at the RS 200 instead
  • Budget is a concern as there are capable shelters available for significantly less
  • You do short sessions and the full RS specification is more than you will ever need
