Trakker Tempest RS 150 Bivvy

The Trakker Tempest 100 uses 210D polyester fabric with a 10,000mm hydrostatic head rating. Trakker’s own FAQ confirms 210D is their lighter weight material, distinct from the premium Aquatexx EV fabric used on the RS range which achieves 25,000mm.

A 10,000mm rating is solid for typical UK conditions and handles sustained rain reliably, though anglers fishing hard through winter in exposed locations may prefer the higher rated RS 100.

The Tempest 100 weighs approximately 6.6kg for the bivvy itself. Adding the pegs, Quicksticks and groundsheet brings the total to around 10.6kg.

This makes it noticeably lighter than the RS 100, which weighs 9.4kg bivvy-only due to the heavier Aquatexx EV fabric. The Tempest 100 is a genuinely mobile option for anglers who want the quick-erect Trakker design without the RS range weight penalty.

The Tempest 100 measures approximately 270cm wide, 250cm deep and 145cm tall at the apex externally, with internal dimensions of around 260cm wide, 240cm deep and 140cm tall.

Transport size is approximately 125cm by 23cm. This gives a proper 1 man footprint with enough room for a bedchair and kit while keeping the packed size manageable for most barrows.

The Tempest 100 is compatible with the Trakker Tempest 100 Skull Cap, the Trakker Tempest 100 Insect Panel and the Trakker Tempest 100 Inner Capsule, all sold separately.

These accessories let you build out the shelter for different seasons — the skull cap adds extra insulation for winter, the insect panel handles summer bug protection, and the inner capsule creates a fully enclosed inner chamber for additional warmth and privacy.

The 10,000mm hydrostatic head handles typical UK winter rain reliably for most sessions. Trakker’s own guidance notes that reported leaks are almost always condensation rather than actual water ingress, since their fabrics are tape sealed at the seams.

For hard winter campaigns in very exposed locations, the RS 100 with 25,000mm Aquatexx EV fabric and Adaptive Ventilation offers a meaningful step up in both waterproofing and condensation management, but the standard Tempest 100 is a genuinely capable winter shelter for most UK anglers.
