The WhichBivvy Verdict
The Tempest RS 150 needs little introduction on the UK carp scene, it’s been one of the standout quick erect bivvies for years, and this Camo edition takes that same proven GRP composite Rapid Knuckle System and dresses it in a pattern that blends in far better on day ticket waters or anywhere you’d rather not stick out like a sore thumb.
Worth noting straight away, and confirmed directly by Trakker, the Camo version’s dimensions differ slightly from the standard RS 150, though the accessories, insect panels, skull cap and inner capsule, remain fully interchangeable between the two.
Setup is where this bivvy has always shone. The Rapid Knuckle System means the GRP composite frame goes from bag to fully pitched in well under a minute, and it includes built-in Skull Cap mounts, so if you’re planning on adding extra insulation for winter sessions later, the fixing points are already there waiting for you.
It’s a genuinely clever, fatigue-resistant frame design that’s held up brilliantly over successive Tempest generations, and this Camo edition is no different.
Fabric wise, this is where the Tempest range really separates itself from the pack.
The enhanced Aquatexx fabric carries a genuinely serious 25,000mm hydrostatic head rating, one of the highest you’ll find on any UK bivvy, backed up by a black-out pigment that keeps both light and heat from flooding in, useful if you’re planning a lie in after an eventful night on the bank.
The Adaptive Ventilation system works alongside this to actively reduce condensation in colder temperatures, tackling one of the most common bivvy gripes without you needing to leave vents wide open and let the cold in.
The tall design gives noticeably more headroom than a lot of quick erect competitors, and the flatter back is a smart touch for storage, whether that’s stacking gear inside or making it easier to pack down at the end of a session.
Two magnetic rod straps keep things tidy at the front, four internal mesh storage pockets give you somewhere sensible to keep small bits, and two internal hanging points are ready for lights or a receiver the moment you’re set up.
Vent covers can be pegged fully open using the Tempest RS Cool Guys guy ropes, sold separately, giving you proper control over airflow and shade on warmer sessions rather than being stuck with a fixed setup.
It comes complete with an oversized heavy-duty NXG carry bag, a groundsheet, tension strap, clear window, two Quicksticks, and a set of T-pegs, so genuinely very little needs buying separately to get going straight out of the box.
This is not a budget purchase, and the price tag reflects genuinely premium materials and engineering rather than marketing spin. If you want one of the very best quick erect one man shelters on the market, in a finish that keeps you that little bit more hidden on the bank, the Tempest RS 150 Camo delivers in spades.
